Surviving March's week 1

Friday, March 6

I'm happy. this is how i would want to start my post for today. 4 days of call center training, going to school every after training to attend class, then practice for our ballroom competition next week, then preparations for the battery of training for our organization tomorrow until sunday.. hectic week? you are totallly right. i really am tired ( and i kook like one) although i'm soOo happy. this is my escape mechanism. being busy with my life makes me feel i'm okay. but i will turn this escape mechanism as the first step towards my success and my stronger personality.

realizations? that, i would never fail to acquire. everyday is a learning, right?Ü that God is very good. when you really want something, He will give that. (well of course if that is really the best thing for you) He is good, really good, I can attest to that. haha ^.^

even if a lot of people are against what i'm doing, i just don't want to believe them. Of course I can do this, I have done it for a week, sure there would be problems, but I know I'm better than those.

there is this quote that I keep on telling myself the whole week.. You don't have to see the whole road. Just take the first step with faith.

Well, it gets really hard at times, but all I have to do is to keep myself in a positive buning attitude. and all that follows are goodness.. haha.. soo happy!

I really am tired at the moment. but before i end this post, i want to include important things that happend during my week.. (random order, haha)

-i ate dinner with rhonz and bee, two of the most important people in my life
-i belong to the trainees for a certain call center technical team. I love our class soOo much. our class is really good, my batchmates are very good with english and their sOoo fun to be with. I'm attached to them easily. we are an all-star class. haha (lots of handsome men, too hahahaha)
-I have a co-trainee who ate lunch alone (mon). i left the table of my friends and joined him. haha i don't know why.. "i will be Antoine's substitute for today' hahaha
-vacation is getting near wee
-i am starting to be positive always.. yey!

that's all I think? haha im outta here..

miss someone..

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful about nothing; but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses every understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts by Christ Jesus.

I heard this passage from miss connie reyes of 700 club asia one night. It is very inspiring. Truly, there are a lot of things that is beyond our understanding, yet God never wants us to understand everything. We just need to cling unto him with full trust, and everything will be okay..

I have prayed to God for power, for me to make major changes in my life. I asked that may He give me the first three months of the year so I could turn over my life and be on track again. I have gained a lot of learnings. And truly, God gave me the power to make my life beautiful. We always have a choice.

There is this one line from the movie "The Number 23" starring Jim Carrey.
There is no such thing as destiny, there are only different choices. Some choices are easy, some aren't. Those are the really important ones. Those that define us as people.

Truly, we are the choices that we continously make.

The movie is so amazing. It is a psychological thriller movie, about a man who will be haunted by the paranoia about the number 23, and discovers a dreadful connection of the paranoia to his own life. I even started looking for the 23 signs of my life (but I think it was just a fictional thingy), there was even a bible passage at the end of the movie, be sure your sin will find you out.(numbers 32:23).. Watch the movie, it's very intriguing and mind-boggling, it was superb.. :)

pushed to be independent..

Friday, February 20

i had just finished my final interview for sutherland, and i passed..

well i have two things to work on: my 'scwa" sound and more knowledge on technical things. i would be part of a technical support team.

i just had a lot of realizations..

1st- that all things happen for a reason. trust God for letting such dreadful things happen to you. just months ago, i was so much of a complaining-maniac when i did my scholarship duty at our school. it was a scholarship, but then my rebellious opinions and liberty hunger was all over me then.. summary-- "scholars aren't suppose to do those kind of duties". i was always crying back then, but now i am more equipped to doing hard, physical work. (really? haha.. i can carry our television, of course i could do physical-challenging tasks.. haha! ) i also learned from this duty that sometimes i have to be alone, and be okay with that. eat alone, hang-out by myself. well, now i enjoy that.. (when i was in hs, i won't eat, even if i'm dead hungry when i'm all alone)

2nd-that you always have a choice, and to be happy. when i was commuting to clark today and employees from iqor 1, the jeepney dropped them to iqor's place. i know that iqor is near sutherland, so i went off the jeepney with them.. (oo0ps.. problems with my language, sorry)

then.. wAaa! i wan't even near nco. so i walked my way towards the company that i need to go to, the sole person in the streets, walking, the sun so high.. ( at least, i have my umbrella with me, whew.. ) .. all the while that i was walking, i was saying to myself, "silly you, doing exercise on high noon. at least, i'm doing something for my health, smile". haha.. as i reached the company, i perfecty registered the building in front of it (DigiteL ) so i won't be doing the same trip again.. (lots of mistakes in the world, try others, right),.. hahaha.. i'm alive and happy..

before i end this post, i would like to share this -- never let all things change. ^.^ i just had a text conversation with a friend who would be the future faith adviser of my kids.. haha ( hey, i don't even have my boyfriend right now, it's so nice to have fUuuuture plans.. haha.. )

Godbless everyone..

I'm so excited to live my life.. live everyday.. ^.^

the beauty of debate

Tuesday, January 27

yah.. the fact that you have a more complicated proposition and have done a much better job in affirming your proposed change.. Even Rey was shocked na di kayo ang third placer.

--these words are from the founder of our organization, the Best Interpolator of the '09 Grand Debate of our university (that's Kua Roy..wee :) ) I was so happy. Imagine, this is the first time that I joined a debate outside our college de[partment (i partcipated in hs debates but we battled with other sections). The experience was really fulfilling and even addicting.. haha I wanted to share the learnings of my day.

-----

The affirmative team
It is the team's job to lay out the parameters of the debate. The team promotes change (according to the proposition) and the burden of proof is theirs.

The Negative Team
Their job is to defend the status quo.

-----

During the Elimination Round (I am a member of the College of Business and Acoountancy team) we won over the College of Information and Technology with the proposition Resolved that the Reproductive Health Bill be passed. I was the third speaker, rebuttalist.

Here is my rebbutal speech..

The power to choose comes from complete information. And giving complete information comes with a system. therefore the Reproductive Health Bill should be passed.

Is the bill unconstitutional?
No. The Philippines is a democratic and republican state, the people having a freedom of choice. and how do we accomplish our full freedom when we are ignorant of some of the most essential information with regards to our health and the responsibilities that comes with it? With a system of health and sex education and all the trainings and services that come with it.

Is the bill immoral?
No. What is immoral in the betterment of our education? What is immoral in being sexually educated. What is wrong in being ready, and being wise and responsible while we are young, which would prepare us to be better parents of our society?

Is the bill necessary?
Definitely. With this and the compete support of the other sectors of our country, what could be wrong?

Should the RH Bill pe passed? You heard us.

---

Our team made a lot of research for this topic. What is good is that all the three of us personally agrees with the bill. Most people are just not well informed of the bill. They thought that the bill was only about contraceptives. haha.. it's not.. I found this article which is really helpful,

CATHOLICS CAN SUPPORT THE RH BILL IN GOOD CONSCIENCE
(Position paper on the Reproductive Health Bill
by individual faculty* of the Ateneo de Manila University)

Reading the full bill is also important.

to those who have questions, or those who would like to ask what are the oppossing contentions for this topic, just tell me. leave me a message at my chatbox, and don't forget to leave a link. :)

P.S.
I have a crush on the best debater.. haha., very witty..

oops.. before i forgot., my vitamins (i am pertaining to a person haha) gave me chocolates before the debate. haha my bunsoy also visited me, after my speech.. so happy ^.^

An open letter to Theatre Guild members

Tuesday, November 11

For the past semester, TG has accomplished a lot. It made a name, as it became more known to a lot of people through exposure of certain members in school events. Even so, there had been a lot of sacrifices, a lot of mismanaged times, conflicts and misunderstandings. This semester, TG is again in for a lot of activities and a lot of plans. And all of these will require a great mind and heart to be managed well and fairly and to be best enjoyed by all the members. It is to be remembered that school, whatever happens, comes first. TG creates a great fire of desire in us yet it is also a temptation for us to fall short of our responsibilities to ourselves and families to study well. Self control is important. Balance is a habit, a continuous and everyday practice.

This semester, it is for us to grow, and be better. Everything would be a lot of work and for sure it will again be months of mixed emotions–pain and happiness. Yet we always have to put in mind that God arranged all of us to be together here with a great purpose– TO HONOR HIM THROUGH OUR TALENTS AND LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. This semester is another chance for us to again show the people around us that TG makes us the best persons we could be. May this semester lead our hearts to being positive and having great love. Being together and being one, whatever challenges we have to face, we will still be strong.

A message from the president, your ate, Rachel..
